Helping Others By Doing What We Love

Crocheting

Come and join with other crocheters of various abilities.  This is a hands-on-event.

This group is fellowship, and we invite your involvement.

You can choose what to crochet when you become comfortable with the basics.

We get together on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 6:00 pm in the Gathering Space.

The facilitators are Diane and Toni.

Quilters

Our quilting group is growing because new sewers are welcomed and needed in this monthly activity.  We will continue our work on the first and third Tuesday of the month in Fellowship Hall at 9:30 am.  Invite a friend to make even more quilts for people living in the cold.  The facilitator is Karen LeCompte.

Cardmaking

Making and sending a handmade card is a beautiful way to connect with our homebound members and friends who need a lift.  In the past, people communicated through handwritten notes and cards, so personally-made cards are particularly meaningful.  Please join us in this venture.   We meet on the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m.

Helping with Salem's Community Meal

A meal holds a profound significance beyond sustaining our physical bodies.  It represents care, compassion, and nourishment for the soul.  When we offer a meal to someone who is alone, in poverty, or homeless, we are not just addressing their immediate hunger; we are also acknowledging their humanity and showing

them that they matter.

Salem Lutheran Church offers such a weekly meal on Tuesday evenings to show their humanity.  Salem needs volunteers from Messiah to help box the meals for residents who live nearby.  If you can help with this meal our slot is the second Tuesday of the month.   Please meet in Messiah’s parking lot at 3:00 pm to carpool to Salem or meet at Salem at 3:15 pm.  Your presence is needed at Salem

until 5:30 pm unless you drive yourself.

The facilitator is Diane.

Tea Ladies

Twice a year our Tea Ladies put on a special event where tea and a light meal are served.  The money raised through these events have historically gone towards new paraments.

The facilitator is Diane.

If you' would like to help plan or attend the next tea call the office for further information.

Dartball League

Monday evenings throughout the school year, at 7:00 pm, team of darballers meets downstairs in Fellowship hall to throw regulation darts at a board designed like a baseball field.  All give their best and just have fun, and enjoy each other’s company.

The year is filled with practice session, home games, and road games to other local Lutheran churches for competitions.  Being Lutheran is nice but not a requirement.  There is a midseason tournament and an

end of season banquet.

The facilitator is Nick Madden
